About Kolin
A musician who loves teaching the fundamentals.
Kolin Sawyer is a senior music major at Bloomsburg University studying Music Technology and Classical Guitar Performance. He has performance experience on classical guitar, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, and electric bass guitar, with a strong background in both solo and ensemble playing.
In the summer of 2024, Kolin attended the Classical Guitar Intensive at Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University, where he performed in chamber and guitar orchestra ensembles while studying directly with internationally recognized classical guitarists. In 2025, he also volunteered through the mentorship program at the Guitar Foundation of America Convention and Competition in Louisville, Kentucky. Through this experience, he gained valuable insight into performance preparation, competition standards, and the professional classical guitar community while assisting both competitors and jury members.
Kolin reads and writes music fluently and is passionate about helping beginner students develop strong musical foundations, build confidence, and enjoy the process of learning guitar. His teaching approach focuses on creating a supportive and encouraging environment while helping students grow both technically and musically.

Kolin started playing guitar as a child and has continued developing as a musician through years of practice, performance, and formal music study. Now a senior music major at Bloomsburg University, he enjoys helping new students build confidence and find their own connection to music.
